Pastor John Goss
John came to serve as the Lead Pastor at Grace Evangelical Covenant in May of 2016. He was born and raised in Poland, Maine and received a BA in Biblical and Theological Studies from Gordon College (Wenham, Ma.) in 2000 and a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (South Hamilton, Ma.) in 2005.
John has served churches in New England in the areas of Youth and Family Ministries and most recently served as the Pastor at Avon Baptist Church in Avon, Massachusetts for nearly eight years before joining Grace Evangelical Covenant.
John’s greatest passion in ministry is seeing people become disciples of Jesus and learn to pursue Him in their everyday lives. One of John’s favorite verses of Scripture comes from Philippians 3:12; “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.” “This verse keeps me humble. It reminds me that I am never as close to Jesus as I could be and there is always room to grow, to learn, and to be more loving. I believe this is what it means to be a follower of Jesus; to trust Him for my salvation and then live every day a little better, a little more like Him.”
John is married to Cherryl and they have four children; Joel, Micah, Isaac, and Anna. He enjoys anything that gets him outdoors and especially appreciates time camping, hiking, and spending time with his family. John is excited about being at Grace Covenant and having the privilege of being a part of all that God is doing here in this church and community.
